Dream of an Angel

To Dream of an Angel

Angels have been documented as coming to humans in dreams for thousands of years. The majority of religious text, no matter the culture or the origin, includes accounts of angels visiting mortals in their dreams. Sometimes they come to warn or advise, and other times to berate or show the consequences of actions taken. They wrestle, they bless and they guide. The documented visits of the past provide hope and inspiration to millions that are touched by these experiences. Angel dreams are still common, though most do not go around sharing them from the roof top. Still, what may it mean if one touches your life? Exploring that question may lead you to self discovery and a sense of peace that is quite different from what you felt before.

Angels are known to deliver messages. In your dream, does your angel speak as you listen, or do you have an actual conversation? It is good to realize that if you have been doing your dream work, you may very well be able to experience your dream in a very present way, allowing you to ask the questions you may need to have answers to from an angel! If the angel is speaking and you are only listening, then focus on the words and do not allow fear to enter your mind or feelings. Again, this sort of control takes practice, but it is these sorts of dreams where it really pays off.

If dreams form in our unconsciousness, then who may this angel represent? If you feel it is not realistic to feel this is a true angel, that’s fine, but consider the angel to be representative of yourself, who is using these means to impart wisdom to yourself. Are you experiencing a puzzling personal issue or career challenge? You may be sorting out details and pros and cons in your dream. Awake as soon as possible and write down the details of the dream. Exact words and actions, whether fragmented or not, write down what you can recall.

Obviously, an angel is a being that is considered to be spiritual and may represent dissatisfaction in your spiritual life, or the feeling that your divine path is being compromised by circumstances in your life. An angel may be the middle man between the spiritual side of your life and that of ego. When these areas are out of balance, the introduction of a divine being is not uncommon, as we tend to take notice no matter what our religious beliefs!

What if you feel you are being visited by a fallen angel? The paintings of old are enough to strike terror in any heart when we think of the fallen angel. The symbolism behind this is negativity. Is there an action in your life that you are repeating in a pattern that is obviously having a negative effect on your life or that of others? You may be visited by the fallen angel to remind you of what your true self feels about the situation.

Whatever the circumstances, when an angel visits you in your dreams, it is time to sit up and take notice of what they are trying to tell you.
